Answering Your Questions

  • We will have an AMAZING group site at the front of the park!

There are trails all around and we’re walking distance to Zion Outfitters - the outdoor store where we will take showers. The views at our site are breathtaking with wildlife all around

  • Showers are walking distance from camp and are about $4 per shower

  • We will have tents provided that will be situated on our group site. Each camper will be sharing a tent with one other person.

Both sleeping systems (cot, sleeping pad, and camping pillow) will be situated on either side of the tent with room for your bag, shoes, and other materials in the middle.

We made sure to provide cots and sleeping pads for all so you feel cozy when it’s time to sleep! It will be a little cool at night, so I recommend sleeping with pants, wool socks, a beanie, and a light jacket.

  • You will NOT have any service at camp or inside of the park. Houston and I will have satellite devices, so we will let one of your loved ones know daily that you made it back safely to camp for the night.

If you’re worried about it feeling too remote or off grid, we’re actually right next to a little town! There is just no cell service within the park.

-a personal battery pack is recommended

  • This trip is for you if you:

    - want a unique experience

    - are looking to step outside of your comfort zone

    - want to disconnect from your phone

    - want to connect with nature

    - love to hike

    - are okay sharing a tent with others

    - like meeting new people

    - are flexible! National parks are unpredictable and will sometimes have trail closures, rain, etc. so the itinerary is subject to change

  • This trip is NOT for you if you:

    - are not okay hiking 7+ miles daily

    - are not okay with sharing a room

    - complain/don’t have a good attitude

    - are not open to other perspectives and opinions

  • The cost covers:

    - ride from airport in designated hours

    - tent

    - sleeping cot

    -sleeping pad

    -camping pillow

    -camping chair

    - dinners

    It does NOT cover:

    - local restaurant on day 2

    -sleeping bag

    - hiking shoes

    - backpack

    - breakfast, lunch, and snacks (will stop by a grocery store before we get to camp)

  • - We will be eating freeze dried meals for all dinners except when we go to a local restaurant on day 2! Freeze dried meals are SO good and we will send a google form for you to pick out the ones you want to try when we get closer to time

    - Breakfasts and lunches will be on your own.

Breakfast will be at camp, and all lunches will take place on the trail. You can select the option to eat freeze dried meals for lunch at check out. If you choose this option, a fee will be added to your total cost to cover the meals and we will send a form on which freeze dried meals you want closer to time.

We will all make our grocery list before we arrive to Utah so that when we make our grocery run on day 1, it will be smooth. And no worries, if someone needs something at the store there is one close!

**any foods for breakfast and lunch need to be nonperishable. We will not have access to a refrigerator. We will have a cooler for cold beverages

  • While no prior hiking experience is required, this trip is an intermediate level for physical activity. There is hiking daily so be aware you will be walking 7+ miles with incline each day.

  • The hikes are a little challenging but very manageable! If you’re concerned about your fitness level, the absolute best way you can prepare is by having good hiking shoes and walking on incline on a treadmill. A really popular workout is the 12/3/30- which is walking on the treadmill at 12% incline, 3 mph, for 30 minutes. You can DEFINITElY lower the incline, but if you work up to that you will have no problem hiking!

  • We work hard to make this trip as inclusive as possible! We had an amazing experience last retreat with people from all walks of life. Respecting everyone’s lifestyle is expected and hate will not be tolerated under any circumstance

  • If you have schedule conflicts, you are more than welcome to leave early! The fee will be the same though since it mostly covers equipment + rental cars.

  • As of now, only girls have signed up for the trip! But if 1 or more guys do sign up (my audience is 96% female so it’s unlikely haha), they will be in the same tent as Houston. The number one priority is that everyone feels safe. :)

  • We do not have electricity at camp, so we recommend buying a battery pack to keep your phone charged for photos.

We will have a communal battery pack, but it is used on a first come first serve bases and is not guaranteed to charge everyone’s devices. But Iphones on airplane mode and/or low battery mode can last up to 4 days!

Meet Your Host

 Hi, I’m Jessica

But my friends call me Jess! I’m a lover of the outdoors, traveling, community, and sustainability. Through posting about my sustainable lifestyle online I’ve done lots of learning and unlearning, dreaming of a better world, and looking for ways for people to connect with environmentalism.

Some random things about me are…

I’m 26, I got my scuba certification this year (my lifelong dream), I love cats, I’m a night owl, and I’m very enthusiastic about living a life full of experience (hence why I love traveling and camping so much).

Ready to go?

Here’s to a week of rest, inspiration, and connection with people from around the world.
